I like it! It's intricate and involved, and you have a very nice writing style. Good at capturing feelings and describing scenes. The only thing I have to nitpick on is your use of "he's". You used it a couple times when it's supposed to be 'his'. The way you can tell whether it's his or he's, is that he's is a contraction of 'he is'. His is possesive, meaning you're talking about something that belongs to a him. 'His' voice, not "he's" voice, because that would be 'he is' voice. See?

Anyway, I'd love to a see a continuation of this! Great job!

I can't decide if I like this version better or the original one. *is torn* Don't make me choose~! But I love the feel for both of them. You just describe the scenery and feelings/emotions so well it leaves me a bit stunned.
