Not sure if anyone else follows this or has ever heard of 'Web Bot' but its pretty much mankind's attempt at predicting the future. Here's a excerpt from one of the articles explaining it:
Obviously these are shitty times- especially when tech stocks go down for the first time in ever because people don't have the money to buy the products, but a Web Bot that can predict earthquakes? Very doubtful.
And the fact that there are so many incredible technological advances that can make the science fiction we see in movies science fact. I mean, a robot that can climb vertical walls and surveillance bots that look like dragonflies. It gets a bit spooky.
I may still be in the denial stage, but I am skeptical.
I agree its a bit far fetched but it's something to think about. I mean, the program is designed to scan literally millions of terabytes of information from the internet. Most of which I can assume are blogs and/or informational sites. Which is how, I think, it attempts to predict natural disasters. The bot itself isn't predicting it but rather its picking up that theres a lot of people out there that think there will be.
I'm sure there must be some filtration system that goes with it as well since one nut job could say the world is ending tomorrow and I don't want that loonies blog to be the one that gets read that day by the bot and suddenly there's world wide panic.
I am partially in denial and partially ready to cash in my chips and load up on weapons and canned goods.
