I wake up and LJ is finally up and running like a good little website should be. The day when I actually have things to post about, the gods of the electrical universe decide that they'll pull the power plug just to mess with us. Grr. Oh well, glad it's all fine and dandy again.

So yesterday the Federal Minimum Wage was raised...well, everywhere

$2.65 an hour?! What! How is that possible?!

I didn't know they were allowed to have it lower than the Federal. What's the point of the Federal, then..?

Well, unfortunately for those who actually DO make $2.65 an hour...if your Kansas business makes *under* $500,000 annually, then you are not required to meet the federal guidelines for minimum wage.

It's unbelievable, isn't it?

I really can't wrap my mind around how someone can even begin to live on that...
