Crossroads

People often talk about meeting a crossroads in life and wondering which route to take, which will ultimately cut all the other options off (apparently U-turns in life aren't allowed), thus shaping the directions of their little lives.  I agree with this, though I tend to think more along the branches of Sylvia Plath's fig tree metaphor in The Bell

isn't that fucking insulting??? aw princess, I'm sure one day there's gonna pop up some amazing thing that demands bouncing curly hair as well as sharp mental powers and you will coo with delight when you see the job description. but until then.. grit your teeth and keep going. Arg freedom of choice, we fight for it but sometimes we wish we could have a nice little path to follow!
I say you come to Japan and get out of your roundabout! ;)

I do wish you the best of luck for your job hunt, maybe this time is just an interlude of greater things to come, sometimes going in circles can help with the driving skills ;)
