I appreciate Myst on a much deeper level than you.

I bring this up because not too long ago, I got a new laptop and had to immediately exchange it for a different one, because the first one had a blown pixel in the screen. Unfortunately I left the first disc ( Read more... )

"I think it's important to feel that all my previous works are crap, because it means I'm improving."

I think that about my art (which is not even near to yours on the Spectacularity Scale). If I look back on something I've drawn and go, " . . .that's crap!!" I know I'm improving. And always improving is vital for any artist, even if they are super spectacular.

The new concept sketches are awesome, by the way. Awesomely awesome. With snakes on top.

._. Well, I say that it sucks to have to leave out technical stuff just for the 'common reader' x_x I pretty much consider myself one of those 'common reader' types, but I think that it would be muchly fascinating to have all the technical dodawhattles to explain how things work.

It's so refreshing to not hear somebody say "zomg i suxzors ar artzorz n im gonna be bad 4 eva cos i neva gonna learn how 2 be gud." but actually talk about practicing to get better instead (even though... it's like "Wha, you think book 1 is terrible? Me loves!")

Hmmm... Myst games... sounds so intriguing! I'm going to have to get my hands on one sometime.

You mention studying anatomy texts and technical drawing manuals... Do you have any specific recommendations for good ones to start with? I especially need to work on technical drawing; I am crap at drawing buildings and such.

I love how you're always striving for improvement. It's a quality I really admire in a person, and I find it inspiring. Thanks for being who you are.
