Do you know about parabens and phtalates? They're found in the majority of cosmetics, and they're linked to cancer and birth defects. Parabens - on the label of your makeup/lotion/soap it would say methylparaben, _____paraben, etc. - are estrogenic, meaning they mimic the function of estrogen in the body. I've seen that, it's interesting that a lot of the "most hazardous" products are also the most expensive. Nars, especially, has a lot that's rated really high there.

I've switched my makeup to Everyday Minerals and my nail polish to Zoya, but it's harder to find skin care and hair care products that are acceptable ... I literally JUST bought "Natural Instincts" haircolor, which sounds great but is rated 9. Ugh.

... on second look, the only kind of haircolor that's rated under 5 is henna. Damn you and your gorgeous red hair! :)

I looked around a little bit to see if I could find anything, and there's a long list of paraben-free companies here, but uh yeah... hair color seems like it's usually pretty toxic.
