"Gerald Carr was an American astronaut born in 1932 and served as a Marine pilot until becoming an astronaut in 1966. In 1973, Carr commanded Skylab 4 which was America's longest space flight, hanging for over 84 days in orbit around the Earth. He managed to log over 2000 hours in Space and an additional 6100 hours were logged in flight in Earth
