seasonal fruit

This is the start of our summer season so English strawberries are ripening and are lovely.  Meanwhile, the season of one of the imported fruits that I like has already closed.  I mean the blood orange which we import from Spain and Italy.  It looks strange inside - probably you would think that it had gone bad!:

Hello! Yes, they're very nice - has a very short season though so you have to grab them when you see them.

I've never tried blood orange, but after reading your description... & wahh! it's too late. :\
The squirrels aren't too bad this spring- yet. But the groundhogs are having a field day! Oh, just one of the many perks of living in a suburban area and trying to stay eco friendly, and not put out poison or traps... *sigh*
