I took the photo of this fine, golden cockerel at the Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre in Cheshire on one of my northerly aunt trips; he was very happy to strut and pose for me! My mum and I enjoyed a lovely, childish afternoon at the Shire Horse place as they had fancy poultry, wonderful grumpus-ish hairy pigs and unusual sheep (or some might have been goats - hard to tell under the horns and so much wool!), as well as the huge and glorious shire horses which made me thinking of jousting and the days when streets and fields were commonly full of large animals pulling and hauling.
I'm so sorry about your poor cat - she looks in such good health in the photo that you posted. Sorry this comment is late; I only just checked your journal now. I haven't been spending much time on the internet this year. Will you get another cat, do you think? It sounds as though you enjoy their company very much.
Thank you for your greeting (love the icon!). I hope that you are well and that 2017 will be a good year for you.
Thank you for your good wishes, and thank you for your concern over the loss of our cat.
Yes, we will adopt another cat. We have 6 now and she is very much missed by 2 of them especially. We'd like to adopt one soon so that those 2 might have another friend who likes to run and play; but it's really too soon for my daughter and me, so we will wait a bit longer.
I always enjoy your posts and pics. And I hope that this year will bring health and happiness to you.
I wish you success in finding another active feline friend for your 2 lively ones. I'm sure that there is a cat out there who would love such a good home with you and your daughter when you are ready for that.
I'm sorry that I don't post anything much beyond the occasional greeting these days. It is not unwillingness but the need to spend more time doing real life things (the usual stuff - shopping, laundry, maintenance, gardening, cooking, cleaning) now that my mum is older and less physically able than she was. And I do spend all day at work sitting on my backside looking at a screen so I'm happy enough to do something different in my spare time!
Thank you for your greeting - and for your Christmas card which got a few comments as being very different from the other 120 or so that were on display over the holiday (I always give the handmade ones - about 7 this year - pride of place).
The feast last night was fun and the friends that came round wanting to watch Kung Fu Panda 3 which I hadn't seen before (I'd seen 1 and 2). I loved it! Of course :=)
I know what you mean about things changing but, in a way, that has become a new constant: that nothing much stays the same (well, cold weather and rain stay the same here!). The art is not to be down-hearted or perturbed by so much change, even when it doesn't seem to be for the better (I haven't mastered this art yet, I should add - but I can see that it would help; otherwise, the consequence is unrelieved anxiety which is no good to anybody or their health).
Wishing you and the family good health, success and happiness in 2017.
I loved Kung Fu Panda3! One of my friends on LJ is an animator, specializing in storyboards, and her two sisters are also animators, they worked on Kung Fu Panda2, so I will have to ask if they worked on the sequel.
My daughter has been studying Chinese for two years now, and she's just made a friend of a Chinese girl studying in Japan, so they are helping each other out with languages, and she'll probably turn her onto Gackt as well, she makes a lot of converts!
I watched all the credits on KFP3 - there were 100s of them! It might have been shorter to list the people who didn't have a hand in it! Your friend and sister must be quite a family - I wonder if there is a collective noun for animators?
That's fun about your daughter already having a friend in Japan! Thing is, though, I wonder if that generation will be interested in an "old" star like G - I guess the younger stars are the big attraction. Poor G!
