... I started a blog today. I was inspired by the badly punctuated t-shirt that I saw at the mall yesterday that I e-mailed many of you about. I'll post about that tomorrow, but my first posting had to be about the cake at Governor Deval Patrick's inaugural ball. Nothing will ever top that

Great spelling mistake on the front page in a headline of the New York Times yesterday. "Buy" was spelled "By" - pretty hilarious.

Having written and edited for a newsletter, I learned why headlines often have mistakes. The text of the story goes through spell-checking and editing more thoroughly. The headlines are added last so they receive less editing.
