Title: The one where...the family have a sleepover
Series: WTF
Genre: Humour, fluff
Rating: Safe
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters in this story, I do own Eri, Risa and the plot however
Summary: Out of the goodness of his heart Kazuya decides to let Eri and Risa stay over, much to Jin's chagrin.
AN: I'm so sorry it's taken so long, my workload for uni got much bigger and then when the holidays started I got a serious case of writer's block. I mean seriously, my brain refused to think. I started this so long ago and it just got to the point where I didn't even care anymore, but it is out (finally) and I'm hoping that posting this will kind of help with the writer's block
The one where…the family have a sleepover
Date: September 2012
Characters: Jin (28), Kazuya (26), Hayato (6), Ryu and Shuji (4), Ryo (27), Eri (3), Koki (26), Risa (5)
The doorbell rang and Jin looked towards the hallway with a sour look on his face, noticing this Kazuya rolled his eyes and as he walked past the older man he swatted him gently on the head.
“Stop sulking or I’ll put you on the naughty step” Kazuya chuckled lightly to himself and made his way to the door. Upon opening it he was greeted with a very happy looking Eri who was wearing a bumblebee headband and bumblebee striped pyjamas, and behind her was a very unhappy looking Ryo.
“Kazu-chan!” Eri launched herself at Kazuya who laughed and patted the small girl’s head, he stepped aside to let her in and she instantly raced past him and into the house.
“Have fun, she’s been hyper all day” Ryo’s voice was void of emotion and Kazuya had to admit: it was a little foreboding, but he was far too used to hyper children for it to have any real effect.
“It’s fine, once Jin cheers up he can play with her” Ryo raised an eyebrow which made Kazuya sigh heavily. “Jin wanted you two to babysit so we could have sex” Ryo made a face when Kazuya mentioned sex. It seemed like every time he saw the two sex came into the topic.
“Well I’m away to pacify a grumpy Tatsuya and an even grumpier Mari” Kazuya waved goodbye as Ryo disappeared down the stairs and into the street. The whole reason this sleepover started was because Kazuya offered to babysit Eri since both Tatsuya and Mari were sick with the flu. He felt a little sorry for the other man, Tatsuya on a good day was bad enough and he couldn’t even imagine how bad he got when he was sick.
Jin came out into the hallway holding Eri’s shoes; he put them onto the shoe rack then wrapped his arms around Kazuya’s waist. Kazuya smiled and caressed the man’s arm as Jin buried his face in Kazuya’s neck.
“You know, it’s not too late to send them all to my mother” Jin nipped along Kazuya’s neck in a bid to seduce the other but Kazuya was having none of it. He whacked Jin’s head and detached his arms; Kazuya turned around and faced his husband with hands on hips.
“Stop acting like a selfish child” Before Kazuya could break out into a full rant Jin was saved by a small, deliberate cough. He looked over Kazuya’s shoulder and glared at the man who was standing in their doorway.
“You know, everyone can see you two” Koki was watching the couple with a smirk (a smirk Jin would like to punch off his face); Kazuya turned around and smiled sweetly at Koki. Beside him Risa was peering up at Jin curiously as the man glared at her father with searing hatred.
“They’re used to it, why don’t you come in” Kazuya stepped aside to let the Tanaka pair in but they stood at the doorway staring at Jin. Noticing this Kazuya elbowed his husband sharply in the ribs; Jin gave a yelp and pouted at Kazuya. He only received a glare which encouraged him to move out of the way and let the pair get into the house.
“I feel sorry for your neighbours, always having to watch you two go at it” Koki laughed as Kazuya blushed, the younger man shoved Koki playfully and grinned.
“Shut up, we’re not always going at it” Jin watched the scene with a sour look; he glared at Koki as the man took off his own shoes then helped Risa get rid of hers.
“Now that you dropped the brat off you can go” Koki sighed whilst Risa glared at Jin, Kazuya whacked the back of Jin’s head and shoved him out of the way so Koki and Risa could make their way into the hallway.
“Keep it up and we won’t be going at it for a long time Jin” Jin pouted at the treatment and rubbed the back of his head. He watched as his wife leave the hall with some other man and his brat.
“What does going at it mean?” Koki and Kazuya stopped and looked at each other with wide eyes, Risa looked up at Kazuya and her father curiously; Koki gave a small cough then looked sideways towards Kazuya. Kazuya blushed and struggled to find an answer.
“I uh, um” Thankfully Jin had taken this moment to bound up to the trio and gather the little girl in his arms. She focused her attention on Jin whilst the other adults watched the two with extreme worry. Jin wasn’t exactly tactful.
“It just means showing affection for the person you love” Risa hummed in response and both Koki and Kazuya breathed a sigh of relief.
“Like daddy and uncle Maru?” Jin let out a sort of choked laugh, Koki looked at his daughter like a deer caught in headlights and he waved his arms in front of his face furiously.
“N-no not like that! I don’t fancy that big nosed old man” Kazuya gave Koki a sly smile and patted his shoulder.
“The lady doth protest too much, methinks” Both Jin and Kazuya began laughing but Risa only looked on in confusion. Koki glared at Kazuya but the younger man only smiled winningly back at him.
“No Risa, your uncle Maru and I are just friends, what Bakanishi means is affection between lovers like these two” He motioned towards Jin and Kazuya and Risa opened her mouth in realisation. A loud crash brought the adults’ attention back to the four unsupervised children currently running riot in the living room. Kazuya glared at his husband.
“This is why you don’t let them go unsupervised Jin” He stormed out of the hallway and into the kitchen whilst Jin pouted at the treatment.
“You look like a fish” Jin glared at the little girl in his arms then made various fish faces for her amusement. She erupted into giggles and Koki watched the scene with a small smile. Upon noticing Koki watching Jin stopped to scowl at him, Risa joined the man in scowling.
“Daddy go away, you’re being creepy” Koki narrowed his eyes but complied with the request, he went into the living room.
“Damn Bakanishi turning my own kid against me” Even though he was muttering it Jin still heard him and stuck out his tongue at the retreating man’s back. He let Risa down and watched as the little girl ran after her father into the living room. Sighing in resignation Jin made his way towards the living room then stood at the doorway and watched as Kazuya gave Hayato and Shuji into trouble. Ryu was watching the scene quietly from his spot on the sofa. When he had finished giving the two boys into trouble Kazuya cleaned up the mess then made his way into the kitchen, making sure to glare at Jin on his way.
The next few hours were pretty busy, even though Koki was there to help it seemed like he made things worse as he spent most of his time fighting with Jin. After an incredibly hectic dinner Koki left to go home, much to Jin’s happiness and the kids were all set up in the living room waiting for Jin to put on the movie. Kazuya had long disappeared into the bedroom, deciding that Jin should be the one to look after the children. With the movie on and the children happily distracted Jin made his way into the bedroom only to find the room empty. He furrowed his brow in confusion and tried to think where Kazuya would be, it was only when he heard some splashing that he realised Kazuya was in the bath. Jin sighed in defeat: Kazuya would be in there for hours and Jin would have to do everything alone.
He made his way back into the living room and settled himself on the floor with Risa, Eri had made herself comfortable on the armchair whilst his own children were taking up the couch. It was a pretty boring movie and Jin found himself drifting off soon after sitting down.
Kazuya walked down the hallway as quietly as possible, he didn’t want to disturb the others whilst they were watching their movie. He rubbed his wet hair with the towel on the way to the kitchen; before he entered however he noticed that the credits were rolling yet no one was turning the movie off. He went into the living room and chuckled quietly at the cute sight. Hayato was asleep on the couch and he had Ryu’s head resting on his shoulder and Shuji’s head in his lap. Eri was curled up on the chair like a cat; her antennas had fallen off of her head and were lying on the floor. Jin’s head was resting on the couch and Risa was lying face down and had buried her head in between Jin’s knees, Kazuya couldn’t imagine any of them were very comfortable.
With a large grin plastering his face Kazuya padded out of the living and back into the bedroom to rummage through his drawers for the camera. Such a sight was far too sweet to not capture. He went back into the living room with the camera and grinned widely. It was taken all of his willpower not to giggle or squeal. He positioned himself at the television so he could get all of them in the shot and as carefully as he could he took the picture. He jumped slightly and winced when the flash went off; he had totally forgotten to take it off and now it was going to ruin the moment. Luckily no one even noticed and he breathed a sigh of relief before taking flash off and resuming his photography session. He made sure to get a picture of Eri for Ryo and Tatsuya and a picture of Risa for Koki, and of course a picture of his own boys who had never been so cute and quiet in their lives.
Once he was satisfied with the pictures he went back into the bedroom and put the camera back in the drawer. He frowned at the overflowing tray and puffed out a sigh; they really needed more storage, and more space to put said storage. Before going into the living room to take the kids to bed Kazuya went into the boys’ room and made up the guest futons.
Kazuya yawned widely before heading back into the living room to take the kids to bed. Before waking Jin up he bundled Risa into his arms, then reached over and pinched Jin’s nose. He waited patiently for Jin to wake up and soon enough the older man jerked awake and looked at Kazuya through groggy eyes. Kazuya grinned and leaned over to kiss his husband gently.
“Help me get the kids to bed” Jin yawned and scratched his chest but obeyed his wife; he rose from his spot and winced. That position was most definitely not good for his back. Jin picked up Eri and followed Kazuya to the boys’ room, the guest futons had pretty much taken up the entire floor space and Jin had to try his hardest not to step on any of them.
Once the two girls were tucked into their beds the couple went back into the living room to bring the twins to bed. Being careful not to wake either twin or Hayato Jin and Kazuya gently lifted each twin, before leaving Kazuya gave Hayato a small peck on the forehead and smiled at the young boy. If taking the girls to bed was difficult then taking Ryu and Shuji to bed was on par with a ninja challenge. They had to avoid stepping on the futons; not to avoid getting them dirty but to avoid stepping on one of the girls and waking them up. But, being the awesome people they are, they managed to tuck each boy into bed. Kazuya sighed and ran a hand through his hair; the twins had been sharing the same bed for the past couple of years and they desperately needed a new one, perhaps he could buy bunkbeds for them. The two adults successfully left the room and Kazuya turned to Jin.
“You go to bed, I’ll deal with Hayato” Jin hummed in agreement then leaned forward and gave Kazuya a small peck on the lips. Kazuya smiled as he watched Jin go into their bedroom then made his way into the living room. He was surprised however to see the young boy already awake and sniffling softly.
“Hayato what’s wrong?” Kazuya hurried over to the boy and gathered him in his arms; Hayato held onto his mother tightly and buried his face in Kazuya’s chest.
“I-I thought everyone had left me” Sobs interrupted the words and Kazuya felt his heart break, he lifted Hayato away from his chest despite the reluctance to let go. He cupped Hayato’s face in his hands and wiped the tear stained cheeks.
“Sweet heart we would never leave you, your father and I were just putting the others to bed” Kazuya pecked Hayato’s forehead and pulled the boy onto his lap; he rocked the little boy back and forth and lulled him back to sleep. Once he was sure Hayato was asleep he brought the boy into his bedroom, and made his way to tuck him into bed. Kazuya kissed the little boy’s forehead and stroked his hair lightly, he smiled at Hayato before turning around and switching off the lamp.
When the room was plunged into darkness, with only the light from the hallway available, Kazuya soon realised that he had put himself in a very dangerous position. Not only would he have to leave the room whist avoiding the futons, but now he would have to leave the room whilst avoiding the futons which he couldn’t see because it was dark. Kazuya cursed his luck but nevertheless took a deep breath before attempting escape.
I'll try my hardest to post up soon
On another note, well done for surviving the end of a calendar everyone
I am now wholly looking forward to saying "I told you so" to everyone who believed the world was going to end today
