META KNOWLEDGE ONLY. THANKS

Mar 26, 2008 04:10

ooc: Okay, so here is the deal, Harry James filters his responses to questions. Especially once he's an adult and after the third war. I decided I wanted to see what his real answers were, so I filled this out. It's for Meta and mun knowledge only. He keeps things quiet because that is how he rolls.

Part 1: The Basics

1. What is your full name?

Harry James Potter

2. Where and when were you born?

Godric's Hollow on July 31, 1980

3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)

Lily Evans Potter: Brave, beautiful, kind, compassionate, loyal, emotional and trusting.
James Potter: Brave, loyal, arrogant, fun, strong, protective and trusting.

4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?

I have several siblings. They are extraordinary and unique in their own ways. I'm the eldest and I take that seriously.

5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.

11-13 Grimmauld place. I live with my wife, my children, my godfather, and various family and friends come and go as they wish too. It was once a house in desperate need of love and laughter. Now it is full of both. It is every bit the proper home that Sirius wished to give me.

6. What is your occupation?

Former auror, part-time teacher, soldier in waiting.

7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.

I'm tall, lanky, unable to gain any proper weight no matter how much Molly, Andromeda, Kreacher and Sirius attempt to prove otherwise. I have black hair that I wear long because it is easier to control that way. I have my mother's eyes. I tend to keep to jeans, t-shirts, and sweaters. I have one tattoo that I got when I was eighteen of a dragon across my shoulders. There is a scar on my forehead.

8. To which social class do you belong?

I am comfortable financially.

9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses?

I have the ability to play god with people's lives if the situation calls for it. Some would call it a strength, but I know better. Power corrupts.

10. Are you right- or left-handed?

Right, but I can manage alright with my left.

11. What does your voice sound like?

Low and soft unless I'm raising my voice and then it has a hard edge to it that sounds an awful lot like Severus. Funny that.

12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?

Your mother is going to kill you if we don't fix this quickly.

Right.

Er...

Follow me.

13. What do you have in your pockets?

Lighter, wand, cigarettes, fifty names on a piece of parchment, and wallet.

14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?

I have this thing about needing to save people. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't sometimes do more damage than good.

Part 2: Growing Up

15. How would you describe your childhood in general?

Cupboard under the stairs. My childhood ended when I came to Hogwarts because I ceased being a child, and instead became a means to an end. I had a good time while I was there though.

16. What is your earliest memory?

My mother screaming and a flash of green light.

17. How much schooling have you had?

Six years at Hogwarts, a few years at Muggle preliminary school, and auror training.

18. Did you enjoy school?

Immensely. It was home.

19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?

Trial and error at Albus and Tom's knees.

20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.

The Order of Phoenix.

Loyal, brave, trusting pawns on a chess board.

21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?

I tried to stay out of my aunt and uncle's way when I was very young. When I became older and found my real family I got along with the lot of them as most teenagers did. Sometimes we got along well, and sometimes they wished to strangle me for being so convinced I knew everything and I wished to scream at them for being so blind to how right I was about everything. I loved them, and they loved me.

22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Just like the Order of Phoenix. I succeeded, and then I became like Albus. Check Mate.

23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?

Quidditch. Flying.

24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?

Before I came to Hogwarts I was quite quiet, and attempted to stay as small and out of the way as possible. Once I got to Hogwarts I became curious, mischievous, impulsive, loyal, brave and foolish. Not necessarily in that order.

25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?

I was legendary. That doesn't make one popular. It makes them a symbol instead of real. My friends were the ones who knew who I truly was.

26. When and with whom was your first kiss?

Fifteen, Cho Chang.

27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?

No. Ginny. I was eighteen.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

Once upon a time a baby survived an attempt on his life and became equal parts orphan, horcrux, and weapon. I learned to be what I had to be.

Part 3: Past Influences

29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?

I died when I was seventeen.

Dying.

32. What is your greatest regret?

Surviving.

33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?

Lived.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

Yes.

35. When was the time you were the most frightened?

Walking to the forest to meet Voldemort.

36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

Honestly, nothing stands out.

37. If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

I...would have died when I was fourteen, in the cemetery, the way I was meant too.

38. What is your best memory?

Everyone coming back.

39. What is your worst memory?

Fifty names on a list in my pocket.

Part 4: Beliefs And Opinions

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?

I'm a realist.

41. What is your greatest fear?

Another war.

42. What are your religious views?

Men can become Gods, and it's dangerous when they do.

43. What are your political views?

I miss Minerva running things.

44. What are your views on sex?

When in doubt, ask Sirius,

45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?

Yes. Merlin, I don't even know anymore. I trust my instincts. How absolutely frightening for myself and those around me.

46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?

Betray their friends.

47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

No. I believe in finding someone who makes you a better person that you can work with as a team.

48. What do you believe makes a successful life?

Being able to face the person you are when you look in the mirror and not recoiling at what you see.

I hope that my children can have that because I don't.

49. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?

I can lie with the truth. Just like my dads.

50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?

Yes. Everyone does. Some of us are just self-righteous and believe ours are for the greater good.

51. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?

Use children to fight wars. Because they're children not weapons. There are plenty of adults to be sacrificial lambs and soldiers.

52. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?

Everyone of course. Dying is every bit as easy as Sirius said it was. Living is what is hard.

Part 5: Relationships With Others

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

I treat others as they treat me.

54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?

My family.

55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

The Marauders, the three that are true Marauders, because they never truly lost hope that the world can be a better place if you put your faith in Albus.

I miss having that kind of blind faith.

56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.

I have lots of friends. I'm closest to Hermione, Ron, Luna, Ginny and Neville, but I have kept in touch with many people from school and from the Ministry and aurors. They are the best group of people I have ever known. They are the ones that I know who will follow me and stand at my side no matter what the risk is to them. We are Dumbledore's Army, and we always will be.

57. Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.

Ginny is everything I wanted and more. She is strong, loyal, brave, wise, and knows when to support me and when to put me in my place. She makes me a better man.

58. Have you ever been in love? If so, describe what happened.

Yes. She looked me in the eyes and told me to do what I needed to do, and that she would be there when I finished. I don't think anyone has ever had more understanding of who I am, and loved me because of it instead of inspite of it than Ginny Weasley has.

59. What do you look for in a potential lover?

Sense of humor, patience, compassion, strength, and the ability to call me on my shite when my arrogance and ego surface to alarming levels.

60. How close are you to your family?

As close as anyone can be.

61. Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?

Yes. I have a beautiful wife, eleven children, as Teddy is my first born, many grandchildren and so forth. They are my sanity. Always.

62. Who would you turn to if you were in desperate need of help?

My fathers and best friends.

63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?

...

Those who raised me and those who consider me a friend. They'll die for me to keep me safe.

64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?

Everyone.

65. Who is the person you despise the most, and why?

Severus. Because I see myself when I look at him.

66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?

Do you hear that? Severus is laughing at this question. I tend to argue my point, and conflict is my middle name after James.

67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

Yes.

68. Do you like interacting with large groups of people? Why or why not?

It doesn't bother me when I need to do it or if the large group of people are my family. I do tend to like the intimacy of smaller groups when I can manage it though.

69. Do you care what others think of you?

Yes.

Go to the roof.

Puff puff pass.

82. Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?

Being mistaken for target practice? Er, I don't know. I suppose anyone who is overly obsessed with the scar I have. Sometimes the headlines in the papers annoy me. Love potions annoy me. Any time Snape was my actual professor. History repeating itself over and over again.

Part 7: Self Images And Etc.

84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?

Wake up, shower, breakfast, play with the kids, hang out with Sirius, go to Hogwarts if needed, go up on the broom for awhile, hang out on the roof. I'm flexible with my routine.

85. What is your greatest strength as a person?

I can do what needs to be done no matter the cost.

86. What is your greatest weakness?

I can do what needs to be done no matter the cost.

88. Are you generally introverted or extroverted?

I've grown more introverted as I've gotten older. However, the phrase 'do not tickle the sleeping dragon' applies quite well to me. I become very extroverted when the situation calls for it.

89. Are you generally organized or messy?

Organized chaos? I know where things are, but it's unlikely anyone else could make sense of it.

90. Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.

Good: 1. I win wars. 2. I am a natural leader. 3. I'm a good father and husband.

91. Do you like yourself?

Sometimes.

92. What are your reasons for being an adventurer (or doing the strange and heroic things that RPG characters do)? Are your real reasons for doing this different than the ones you tell people in public? (If so, detail both sets of reasons...)

I'm a moving target, a general, a weapon, a son, a husband, a father, a prophecy child, or basically I'm Harry Friggen' Potter. Pick one, pick them all, they're all true.
