Ugh...potions

Dec 10, 2010 00:35

Potions is not my favourite subject in any regards but the school requires we take it. I've never really good at making potions though. So here's the issue. I'm doing not so good in that class and by not so good, I'm almost failing. I generally wouldn't care, as long as I got a passing mark but my mum has been on me about my marks. I know what you mean. I'm absolute rubbish at Potions. I'm still surprised I managed to pass my O.W.L. even if it was just barely.

Just think though. Next year, you won't have to take it if you don't want to.

At least that's something to look forward to. Now I just have to survive this year.

If it helps, actual OWL exams are slightly less hard than the work you do all year to prep for them. So as long as you do the prep work you'll do better than you'd expect on the exam. Also Mum may try and make you study all Christmas, but about five minutea after she begins the twins will explode/set something on fire and she'll forget all about it.

I'll take that into consideration. I suppose regardless, I can't get out of buckling down and studying at this point.

They are rather good at creating convenient and sometimes inconvenient distractions.

If you're doing that badly come to the Potions lab after dinner.

[[OOC: It was a pretty whiny pathetic entry, and Snape hasn't labeled you a pain in the backside yet.]]

I thought you were only offering tutoring to those you didn't dislike? I would've thought...nevermind. I can at least be thankful when you're willing to help out.

[[OOC: I'm surprised Snape didn't just call him a git and leave him to his whinyness XD cuz well...Ron was being rather whiny]]

Just show up and bring your potions equipment.

[[OOC: Snape just makes the hate eyes at Harry, without ever having actually spoken to/met him or his friends. And Draco can be pretty whiny too.]]

...Thanks...

[[OOC: Ron would probably blow up at being compared to Draco in any way, shape or form but their whininess is on par]]

I didn't know it was going quite that bad, man. Am I the world's most rubbish friend?

Definitely not rubbish mate. Not many people knew about my potions grade and it should be getting better since Snape agreed to tutor me. I just have to survive through it first.

By the way, are you coming home with me for Christmas? Mum's been wondering and it'd be nice to have you around.

I wrote my Mum about Christmas, and she said it would be okay, but she sounded kind of mopey, so I'm not sure what to do. Do you think I could come out for a couple of days after Christmas itself? I think that would mollify the mother-creature, and I'd really like to get out there.

Sounds great. I'll let my mum know the plans.
