Crutches suck, but they're better than the alternative

I twisted my knee at TKD on Monday night. I came down badly from a flying kick, and I knew as soon as I landed that something went wrong. I heard/felt a "pop", and that's one of the things that can signify bad, bad things happening in a joint. Oh yeah, and it hurt. Oh, man, I am so sorry. You have my full sympathy -- with the crankiness and the fidgetiness and all of that, as well as with the pain. And it's good to keep reminding yourself of how it really could be way worse and so you have plenty of cause to count yourself lucky -- but even when one understands that, that doesn't actually make it suck any less while you're experiencing it. Try and be good to yourself; as long as you have to sit still, it's pleasanter with good chocolate and good tv and stuff like that.

Did you get a diagnosis, if it's not a torn ligament?

In any case I hope you feel much, much better very quickly.

Oh, woobat, I'm sorry too. I'll be thinking good knee thoughts over from this end of the country. And crutches do well and truly suck. Maybe a walking stick can get substituted, or are the crutches doctor-prescribed?

Ow! Owowowowow! Yikes, just reading your post makes me cringe in sympathy. I'm so glad it wasn't worse than it was; I hope you heal quickly!

I think I speak for all 30+ year olds when I say, "Knees suck. The human race needs an upgrade."

Feel better! Coddle yourself in the meantime.
One can peel apples for a pie while sittig down, for instance...
