Chest compression only CPR is as effective as chest compressions and assisted breathing

Some of my advanced 1st responder classes, taught that compresses are more important then assisted breathing.

Basically the rule is: If you may be doing CPR long term, by yourself, is to focus on compressions and assist breath every 5-8 sets. Otherwise you risk hyper-ventelating.
