Title: Life With You (Part One)

Pairing: Sakuraiba

Warnings: Mindless FLUFF, not much of a plot, PG-16?

Word Count: 9500+

Summary: This is for sashjun. From the prompt “It’s not true that life is one damn thing after another, it is one damn thing over and over.”

Disclaimer: The people in this story belong to themselves. This fanfic is purely fictional and created for leisure purposes only. I am not making any money from this.

A/N: First time writing Sakuraiba so my characterization for both Sho and Aiba are still a little off and more importantly, this is my first fic after more than a year. Admittedly, I’m not happy with how this one turned out. I can’t believe just how rusty I’ve gotten! I’ll need time to get back into the groove so I figure this fic is the best way to start me off. Alex, if you still remember me (and the prompt table you made for me), this is for you. I’m sorry that all I can write even after all this time is STILL fluff. I tried my best to do justice to the prompt, but the idea ran away with me and then I started losing sight of my goal (if I had one to begin with) and now I have no idea if anyone can see the connection between prompt and fic anymore. @_@ Please feel free to point out any mistakes if you spot them.

Life With You (Part One)

The aroma of freshly-brewed coffee wafted into his nose, awakening his senses as the alluring smell broke into the haze clouding his mind and forcefully pulled him out of peaceful sleep.

Sho’s eyelashes fluttered as he began to wake, groggily registering the fact that it seemed quite bright behind his eyelids, meaning that the sun was already up on the other side. He shivered slightly when he felt a light breeze coming in from one of the open windows, brushing against his bare skin. It was the beginning of autumn and the air outside had begun to cool down, causing life in Tokyo to be quite chilly. Groaning inwardly, Sho buried himself deeper into the covers in an attempt to block out the cold and the little light he could sense despite not having opened his eyes yet.

He knew his attempt was in vain when just then, the distinct sound of a doorknob turning was heard and a familiar presence entered the bedroom. Sure enough, a moment later the side of the bed behind him dipped and the presence loomed overhead.

“Good morning, Sho-chan!” Aiba called cheerily into his ear in a voice much too loud so early in the morning and had it been anyone else who was woken up like that, Aiba would be on the receiving end of some serious verbal abuse. Sho, however, was unfazed. After all, he had woken up to the same morning call for the last three years since moving in with Aiba and so it went without saying that he was more than used to it. In fact, Sho could no longer imagine having it any other way.

Aiba, on the other hand, seeing no response coming from the log on the bed otherwise known as his boyfriend, put a hand on the older man’s bare shoulder and started to shake him awake. “Sho-chan, wake up! Wake up!”

Sho tried his best to ignore the other man but knew it was no use when the shaking grew increasingly violent.

“Unghh,” he finally groaned, sounding displeased. The older man turned over so that he was facing the person most dear to him and before Aiba could react, Sho had wrapped his arms around the slender waist in a sudden move, pulling the younger man under the covers and into his embrace.

“Hey! What are you doing?” Aiba protested immediately. He started to struggle against the strong hold on him but his attempts proved futile. Sho paid the younger man no heed and instead, buried his face into Aiba’s shoulder, breathing in the fresh scent of soap he could smell from the other’s skin. Aiba must have been up for awhile now.

“Oi!” Aiba called again. Seeing as he was being ignored, he poked one of Sho’s arms hard, digging into the stiff muscles he found there, demanding to be released. However, Sho merely grunted and wrapped his arms tighter around the younger man, trapping the lithe arms and effectively immobilizing him.

Realizing that he was on the losing end of the fight, Aiba finally cried out in exasperation. “Sho-chan, get up! You’re going to be late for work!”

The reply he got was another grunt. And then, “What time is it?” Sho asked gruffly into the younger man’s shoulder.

“It’s half-past eight.”

“Unn, good. I don’t have to be at work until eleven.” And with that Sho adjusted himself comfortably, having every intention to go back to sleep and even better this time because he had Aiba in his arms.

“But I’ve already made breakfast!” Aiba complained, trying and failing to push the better built man away from him. “The food will get cold!”

Sho didn’t reply. It looked like he was already well on his way back to dreamland, lulled quicker into slumber by his lover’s warmth.

Aiba huffed impatiently. Sho had always been bad with mornings but this was just unacceptable! Just as he was about to resolve the problem by simply pushing Sho off the bed, an idea struck him.

“Alright then,” Aiba said in a calm voice. “If you go back to sleep, I’m forfeiting today’s good morning kiss.”

There was a sharp intake of breath and less than a nanosecond later, Sho sat up straight on the bed, bleary eyes open and hair sticking out in every direction. Finally free from Sho’s grasp, Aiba got up into a kneeling position. He chuckled to himself as his boyfriend sulked cutely and stared at him with a forlorn expression.

“You can’t take away my good morning kiss!” Sho said in dismay, looking like a child who just had his favourite candy taken away from him.

“Yes I can if you don’t wake up! I wanted us to have breakfast together!”

“Okay, okay! I’m up now!”

“Good then!”

When Aiba made no other move after that, Sho began to pout, an expectant look on his face. Aiba couldn’t help laughing at Sho’s expression, so unlike the serious newscaster he was used to seeing, as the man moved closer to Aiba purposefully. Reading the earnest request in those big, round eyes of his lover’s, Aiba gave in.

“As promised,” he whispered softly. Slowly moving his hands up to Sho’s face, he cupped the slightly chubby cheeks gently, caressing the soft skin with his fingers as he did so and drew closer. He watched Sho’s eyes flutter closed before shutting his own, their breaths mingling as the distance between them shortened.

Soft lips touched Sho’s in the lightest of kisses as Aiba brushed his lips against the other’s full ones. The younger pressed on just a little harder so that their lips met fully, unable to stop the grin which spread on his face when he heard a low groan coming from the back of the older man’s throat. Just as Sho’s lips parted in an attempt to take control of the kiss, Aiba pulled back.

“Mmm, Masaki?” Sho asked in a confused voice.

“Not now,” Aiba giggled at the dissatisfaction he could see etched on his lover’s face. “Hurry up and get washed up!” Without another word, the cheery man bounded off the bed and out of the room, leaving the older man to glare at the closed door.

Sighing to himself, Sho stretched his arms above his head to get rid of the cricks he could feel all over his stiff body and at long last, he got out of bed. It was time to prepare for another hard day at work.

********************************************

“Pancakes today!” Aiba announced happily, sitting down at the neatly set dining table and admiring the fruits of his labour. He had felt like Western today and so, the table was modestly set with a stack of pancakes, some butter and honey, and a large mug of coffee each for Sho and himself.

“It looks really good,” Sho commented, smiling at the other as he picked up his fork and knife. He had finally gotten himself washed up and now sat fully refreshed at the dining table. “Itadakimasu!”

The two silently dug into their breakfast, enjoying the wonderful taste of the food Aiba had painstakingly prepared. While the food was delicious, it was the fact they had each other’s company which made the meal taste so much better.

Recently, Arashi had become increasingly busy with all sorts of jobs streaming their way one after another and while all of the members were thankful for that, it was also undeniable that it was becoming more and more difficult to match their schedules. There was hardly a day when both Sho and Aiba had time-off at the same time and as a result of that, they hadn’t been spending time together as much as they would have liked to. It was only last week that Sho had wrapped up filming for his movie and before that, Aiba had gone abroad as a navigator for a sports event. Not to mention they were currently still in the middle of their tour and had rehearsals every other day, along with promotions for all their new releases on top of filming for all their regular shows in between photo shoots, interviews, advertising, hosting and all other jobs which they had been given the honour of doing. In short, there was just not enough time left for themselves.

Despite the fact they lived together, it was unexpectedly difficult for the couple to meet as Sho’s schedule meant that he was hardly ever home and when he did manage to find his way home, Aiba would have his own work to attend to and more often than not, they passed each other by. Even when both men happened to be home at the same time, they would be so completely exhausted that they could only manage to get themselves cleaned up before falling into deep sleep in each other’s arms. The only times the couple actually managed to talk to each other was when they had work for Arashi and even that left them with very little time considering all the rushing around they had to do.

Hence, it was for these reasons which made today a very, very special day. It was one of those rare occasions when Aiba had the whole day off and since Sho had recently finished filming, his schedule had lightened up, leaving him with a bit more free time. Since this was not something that happened very often if at all, Sho was determined to take advantage of this golden chance.

“Masaki, you’re off today, aren’t you?” Sho asked in between mouthfuls of pancake.

Aiba nodded. “Yeah. Manager-san handed me a bunch of interview sheets to fill out but that’s about all I have to do today.”

“Great. I have a meeting for Zero later and then a photo shoot but I shouldn’t be back too late.”

“Think you can make it for dinner?” Aiba’s eyes lit up, looking hopefully at Sho.

Sho thought about it for awhile. “I might be a little late, but I should think so.”

The returning smile Aiba gave then made Sho decide that he would make it back for dinner that night, no matter what it takes.

Soon enough, they were finished with breakfast and it was time for Sho to make his way to work. Putting on the new pair of shoes Aiba had gotten him just the other day - a pair of red-and-green-checkered sneakers with silver laces and trimmings which sparkled in the sunlight - Sho stood at the doorway and faced the younger man whom had been watching him from the upper step which led to the inner part of their home.

“I’ll be going now,” Sho said.

“Okay, I’ll see you tonight with dinner on the table!” Aiba replied with a sweet smile, eyes shining with unspoken encouragement. “Good luck at work.”

“Yeah…” Sho trailed off, staring deep into those gentle eyes, his expression solemn.

Aiba blinked a couple of times as he found himself suddenly caught in Sho’s intense gaze. “Sho-chan? What’s wr-”

His words were abruptly cut-off when he found himself suddenly yanked flush against Sho’s warm body and his lips captured in a deep kiss. Aiba was confused for all of a second before succumbing to the familiar warmth and sensation, eyes fluttering closed as he lost himself in the heat of the moment.

Sho’s kisses were sometimes rough, sometimes gentle, depending on various reasons - most of the time being how long since they’ve last made out - and today, Sho was definitely rough. Strong, muscled arms wrapped tightly around his waist and their bodies pressed so close that there was no space left between them. Aiba soon felt Sho’s demanding tongue trace a line across his bottom lip in silent question, coaxing him to open up. Smiling to himself, Aiba parted his lips as he granted his permission, allowing the eager tongue access. He felt as Sho’s tongue slipped easily through the opening into his mouth before tangling with his own as the kiss deepened. Aiba tried to keep up, fighting for some semblance of control of the passion-fueled kiss but try as he might, he couldn’t stop himself from melting in Sho’s arms. Aiba had always found it amusing that Sho was so clumsy and often failed at things but during these moments, he showed clearly just how manly he could be. Giving in to Sho’s dominance, Aiba entrusted himself fully to the older man. Reeling and weak-kneed from the force of the kiss, he had to scramble to put his arms around his lover’s neck for support.

After a long while, they had to separate for lack of air. Sho reluctantly pulled himself away, panting lightly as he drew in some much needed oxygen. He took in how dazed and out-of-breath Aiba was and chuckled, feeling satisfied with the flushed cheeks and utterly ravished look his lover now wore.

When they had both returned to regular breathing and Aiba had come back to his senses, Sho dropped a quick peck on his boyfriend’s now-bruised lips. He smiled when Aiba flushed just a little bit pinker when he did so.

“That was payback for this morning,” Sho said huskily, a cheeky glint in his eyes as he reminded Aiba of his discontent from earlier. “Now I’m finally up and ready.”

“Idiot,” Aiba muttered but smiled back all the same. Relaxing in Sho’s warm embrace, he relished in the comfort and love he felt so strongly there before pulling himself away, much to Sho’s disapproval. Aiba laughed at the morose look on Sho’s face and flicked a finger playfully over the other’s forehead.

“Hey!” Sho protested, slapping a hand over the injured area in exaggeration.

“You better get going or you’ll really be late now!”

“You’ve been chasing me away the whole morning!” Sho said in mock hurt. “I can’t help feeling you just can’t wait for me to leave! And here I am missing and pining for you so much even though I haven’t even left hompffgh-!”

This time, it was Sho who was cut-off when Aiba suddenly pulled at the collar of his jacket and swallowed his rants with a hard kiss. The suddenness of Aiba’s actions was enough to stun the older man into stillness.

Brushing his lips tantalizingly against Sho’s one last time, Aiba stepped back once more before Sho could gather himself - the newscaster was still unmoving, staring blankly at Aiba in shock.

“I love you too, Sho,” Aiba said simply. “And I know we haven’t had time for each other lately. That’s why…” he trailed off and threw a mischievous wink at the older man, “that’s why I’ll be waiting for you tonight.”

It took about thirty seconds for Sho to fully digest the meaning of Aiba’s words but when he did, he couldn’t stop the mad grin which spread on his face. “I’ll be back before you know it!” he declared, excitement evident.

Aiba laughed “Alright already! Now go!” He gave the older man a sharp shove to get him moving, knowing they would never get anywhere if they continued to talk at the doorway.

Feeling fully energized, Sho was halfway out the door before turning back with a ‘you-better-be-ready-tonight’ smirk. With one final wave, he left the lovely home he shared with the love of his life behind him and headed towards reality.
