I agree with the comments above, this is really something. Such an interesting and unusual look at the complex character that Owen is.
I also think it doesn't need the epilogue. It's actually better without it IMHO but even with it, it's still a really good fic. Please keep writing. I shall look out for you. :)

I read a fic a log time back where Owen mentioned watching late night cooking shows after death and really loved the idea.

I can see what people are saying about the epilogue, I was having my doubts when I was posting.

This is absolutely lovely. I can see Owen doing this ... I really can. You capture him well even without his actual presence in the fic.

Thanks. I think the part with the cupcake was my favorite bit of Owen-ness.

I really wanted him to still be there and still having an impact, probably because I want him to still be on the show.

I love the sense of loneliness in this fic. I find it heartbreaking that Owen couldn't find it in himself to give the presents to the others.

The episode Adam really illustrated that dual aspect of Owen's nature - the guy who buys the gifts vs. the guy who wouldn't dream of giving them.

Thanks for reading!

This is great, I really loved Owen developing a shopping problem. The creepiness of finding the presents was especially powerful. (I do know of the present thing happening in real life, and it is a strange thing)

While it doesn't need the epilogue, I can see that you were trying to say that Owen had given all three of them a gift as it were, I didn't mind it at all.

Tiny Brit pick, we don't have neckties, it would just be tie. Also when you say dress shirt, to me that means the type of shirt you wear for a formal occasion with a bow tie? Otherwise it really is just a shirt!!

Thanks for the comments :) I really like the epilogue, even though I can see reasons why it might not have worked. Plus, it wouldn't be fair to leave poor Jack all by himself.

I buy presents for people all the time, even if it's going to be weeks or months until I see them (or in one case, they're not even concieved yet) so I can sympathize.
