and yet...his episode "Fire and Water" will the study of an in-depth "how did they do that" feature on the season 2 dvd's...not that that helps the immediate problem, but it's something to look forward to.

i'm hoping he's figured prominantly in these last few eps, or i'm gonna be pissed.

look at it this way...at least Charlie wasn't wandering around the hatch when Micheal opened fire.

I'm just cranky because I'm having a hard week and I really needed my Dom fix. Yeah, I'm glad he didn't get killed off, and I am pleased we'll see more of him in the dvd. *Sigh*.

If he's not up front in these last 3 episodes, though, I don't think I can take it. *holds breath till next week*

I agree...I'd love to be able to see much more of him on the show.

I have to admit I'm glad two characters got killed because maybe with the cast back down to season-1-size it will be less frustrating. >_>

I never heard that it was supposed to "star" anyone; the point of an ensemble cast is that it doesn't.

I don't mean this as a criticism, only as genuine curiosity, because I always wonder when people say that: do you like the show itself, or is it just seeing Dom regularly that appeals? (Or a little of both?) *curious*

If it's truly and ensemble cast, then Matt Fox shouldn't be the only male who figures so prominantly in the episodes, and then pushed forward for consideration in the Leading Actor category

Not that he doesn't do good work, but is his role so much more important than everyone else's? I didn't use to think so, until his father started showing up so prominantly, and figuring into so many story lines.

For a character that was supposed to be killed off in the pilot, this show seems to revolve more and more around just him.

And it would be nice to see more of Dom onscreen than we have.

True. I think that's ABC's decision (to put him forward for consideration) as opposed to anyone directly involved in the show, but I could be wrong, and believe me, less Jack would make me happy. Still, I think he's actually had less prominence this season, perhaps signaling an evening-out of the roles.

I guess, not liking Charlie that much out of all the characters, I'm not quite as concerned about that factor as many other fans. But he of course does a good job with the role (even when the writers don't).

I understand what you mean about not liking Charlie so much as a character. It feels like all season I've been waiting for the writers to do something more interesting with the character, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Aargh.

Again, I guess I'm just frustrating myself with unrealistic expectations. =/

And I agree Dom does do an amazing job with what little he's got to work with.

I agree that lack of Dom and a decent plotline for Charlie sucks. It worries me that he may not last on the show for much longer. He may quit out of pure frustration. I also miss Jin and Sun, Sayid, Ecko--all far more interesting characters than Jack and Kate. I hate her, BTW.

Oh, I hope he doesn't quit!!! Though I know what you mean-- I worry about that sometimes. At least he has more time to surf and work on that movie with Billy this season. Maybe they'll kill off all the tailies and it will go back to a cast the size of season 1 and we'll see more of the characters I've been missing??

I know, I'm getting frustrated too. I'm hoping the fact that they've chosen 'his' episode to focus on and deconstruct for the DVD's is a good sign. *sigh*

Yeah, I hope so. They'd better make up for the relative lack of Dom screen-time this season in some way. *shakes fist*

Also: I don't know how into spoilers you are, so I'll just say some things I've read suggest we'll see more Charlie in the remaining episodes. I hope they're right!

And like others have said, I know that with a large ensemble cast, there ARE going to be some weeks where he's not much in evidence, but it just seems like a LOT lately. Of course, I'm biased because they're giving a lot of screentime to the characters I'm less interested in - Jack, Kate, Locke, Rose/Bernard... and even Hurley (I hate to say it, but I'm getting really sick of him). I'd like to see more Charlie, but also more Sayid, Jin & Sun, Danielle, etc. The only one of my favourites who always seems to be in the spotlight is Sawyer.
