It's so nice to see my fandom abuzz with Dom-related news this week. :D I can't wait for Dom's new appearance on Craig Ferguson!!! I hope he gets asked about his upcoming projects, and I'm especially interested to hear his take on his X-men character. (How awesome is it that Dom will be in a movie like that?!!)

They cast hims as BEAK?!?!?! Beaks like, the worst xmen character ever. (sorry, xmen geek right here). He looks like a turkey. Maybe they'll mess it up anyway and do something cool with him.

And looking at the other cast, the dude playing sabretooth sucks and is no where near powerful/big enough to compete with tyla manes performance.

And whats with the kid playing Gambit!? He's TOO YOUNG. The Ragin Cajun has a history you would not believe. This is why I hate Marvel movies. They suck ass. But I still en dup watching the damn things. *sigh*

But BEAK?! *head-desks*

No, not Beak!!! At least I hope not-- the article I linked to gives me some reason for optimism on this. I don't know that much about the characters but Beak definitely sounds like the lamest one ever. LOL.

By the way, since there is this confusion over the character... do you think there's any chance that both theories could be true? Like somehow in this prequel Barnell is a cool electro-man character until something bad happens to him that forever turns him into stupid beak guy?

Not sure...I'm not all together clear on Beaks *history* tbh. Like I say, he was one of the lesser Xmen characters in the universe (which is hugewith multi dimensions and all else confusing).

Thinking on it though, Beaks strongest feature is fighting skill. The Wolverine story, the early stuff, is mostly martial arts stuff, a lot of it. This is one of the reasons our Dom mighta been picked, he did that martial art film if I recall.

Seeing as Beak doesnt really resemble Dom that much, I'd imagine they'll vamp the character up a bit. I remember flipping at the first xmen film because Jubilee looked nothing like Jubilee and Rogue was nothing like Rogue was in the comics (infact her stories compleeeeeeeeeeeetely different).

So, here;s hoping Beak gets a revamp and becomes all cool...thanks to Mr Monaghan!

I am so happy for Dom, this is such great news!:)

As far as I understood and as far as my friend(who's read X-Men comics for years) explained to me, Dom's character Barnell(his human name) is Beak, but in later comics(like after the X-Men movies) he takes on the persona of Blackwing and the special suit he wears gives him the power to do electric blasts and stuff like that...
Right now people think that they might mix the pre-and post X-Men Barnell/Beak/Blackwing storylines and make one character(well, it's always only been one character but in different times of the stories) out of it...
Don't really know, though!

Yeah, this is great news and it's fun the way it's such a mystery! (Check out the link in the above comments to this post-- I can't believe the two extremes his character might end up being). Haha! It's too bad he wasn't on Ferguson after all-- I would have loved it if he was asked about the character. :)
