Blow, blow, thou winter wind

Our first “real” winter storm has hit - living in the north, I have a very exacting definition of a real winter storm, and it involves -20 (or better) windchill, a wind biting enough to sand the skin, and snowfall that requires going out every couple of hours for a good shoveling.

We don’t quite have the last one yet, but the snow drifts are pretty ( Read more... )

Mmm vegetarian lasagna sounds delish. How are you and the family doing? Are you still writing or are you in edit mode?

The veggie lasagna was awesome. I am glad I ended up making more than usual, now I have plenty for the winter...

The boys are all doing well. I'm sort of writing, sort of not... I think I hit a big bump and am trying to get back into writing regularly.

How are things with you?

I love how you lump the hubby in with the dogs. =)

Things are good. I'm enjoying life a lot right now. Fergus makes me laugh, and Nestle has started curling up with me at night again (Fergus had her scared to come in the bedroom for almost a full year). Life is really pretty darn good.

I just need to buckle down and get some independant study going on so I can increase my value to my company. That will be one of my winter projects. Nothing like curling up with some textbooks on a cool winter night. =D

I miss your writing blurbs in your journal. You should post snippets more.. (or should I be going to your other journal / website?)

Well, the spouse IS a Boy, capital B... :)

The other journal cross posts here, so you would see snippets if I had any. Maybe in the new year, since I'm thinking of a different book to write. It's been floating in the back of my head for a while, keeping for attention. As soon as I figure out the protagonist,..

What independent study are you doin this winter?

Around here, people just shrug at the snow. I'm shocked that there was even a snow day earlier in November, though it was because there was ice and rain, and the buses wouldn't go. Why, in MY day... We had to walk uphill backwards through ten feet of snow...

It was indeed uphill both ways, but the barefoot thing was a generation before. I had sandals.
