i just want boa to pwn so she can be like SO YAH BI, SE7EN, THAT'S HOW A US DEBUT IS DONE ^_^v cause she was the first kpopper to really hit it big in japan, and then a bunch of them have tried to do the same. her debut song is pretty average though...but her dancing is good soooo maybe that'll get her some attention? and at least she's already released samples of the mvs, so hey that's further than bi and se7en have got eh!
yeah, that's what i want to happen! and honestly, i've always thought that an asian girl would have more chance of 'making it' in america. i mean, asian girls are thought of as really exotic and beautiful while the asian guys are thought of as really feminine and, well... gay. and boa's very charismatic, which is always a plus XD
i thought her debut song has a really good beat, but when she sings, it's really, idk, lacking a punch? the beat is so powerful but her voice just doesn't have the kind of punch that would suit the beat. i'm hoping they release the version that's in the MV preview, cause that's a lot better than the audio version i heard >.<
yah same. and i hope utada hikaru's new english album does better than her last...so long as she doesn't have stupid 'easy breezy i'm japanesey' lyrics X_X i'm so sick of bi and his ego -___-
the thing about her song i think is a bit of a weakness is that it's so generic...i think she needs to have something a bit different if she's going to last rather than be a one hit gimmick like coco lee was. have you seen both mvs? i like the dance auditiony type one better, though again, it's very typical.
yeah, me too. did you see the post on ONTD about BoA? people started talking about utada's album and they pretty much said the same thing. lack of promotion and change in music quality meant for no popularity. that, and nobody knew when the album came out (which comes back to promotion, i guess
( ... )
this is the BoA that i love. she's at her best when she's sort of tomboyish but powerful and sexy at the same time. so i'm happy with the video (from what we've seen anyway XD)
i think she has more chance of the Western market accepting her than, say, Rain or SE7EN. it all comes down to the image of asian girls vs asian guys (in Western media). asian girls are generally seen as far more positive than the boys are (exotic and sexualised vs feminine and gay, generally speaking), and i think that can definitely help her. and of course, SM had better promote the crap out of her
should i bring it back to aus? i was originally gonna leave it here, but if you want to read it, i can bring it back (and give it to you the next time i'm in sydney XD)
yeah, i just heard it. check gmail, i posted a link to the preview video~ ^^
Is the plot any good? I got kind of scarred after reading 'Angels & Demon's' and had nightmares about dead people... So now I'm wary about his books XD
YEHHH I just saw the link. Can't wait to check it out~
I'm not posting this on my LJ, because I despise this silly book. But for YOUR sake, I'll put it here.

no problem! i figure it's time for me to start being more active on my LJ again XD;;
yeah, i hope they do that. something about the first preview throws me off. i think it's the orange lipstick they made her wear (when will people learn that orange lipstick makes you look silly?), but it's also, idk, the whole vibe of the video? it just looks really cheap and ugh... my coherency has gone out the window =_=
SM'd better promote the crap out of her if she's gonna have any chance of making it in the US *crosses fingers*
