Well, I'm cheerfully disregarding most of the obnoxiousness, but there were some comments made about how some people find philosophical taglines generally annoying on the grounds of their either imposing the writer's personal philosophies on unwilling and uncaring readers, or else being just plain dumb. Given a choice, I'd rather not look like I'm either preaching or stupid...

Also, I know my sense of humor doesn't always come through perfectly clearly via email, and in the past I've used a couple of self-mocking jokes about flutes and flute music -- and now I'm wondering if people who don't know me might be bothered by those.

But yeah, in general, phooey on the EK list!

IIRC, the bitchfest started with a (local 8P) sh!t-stirrer gadfly kvetching about sigs added by people's phone makers (''sent from my iPad''), as if you have a choice about what your mobile device adds. Did it spin off after I began mass-deleting?

You do actually have the ability to remove the "sent from xyz device" auto-sigs. It's just another setting on most smartphones.

That wasn't actually my question, although there was quite a feisty little side discussion on-list re. those automated lines. :) I'm just looking to test the waters on how people feel about deliberately placed quotes.

Wooo, that would be great! Part of what's making me sad is all these chemises sitting around being unloved. :) I should note that many of them show signs of having been to Pennsic a few times.

We should talk...

Yeah... I just thought I'd check and make *certain* my friends weren't wincing every time they got one of my emails, you know? I get paranoid about these things. :)
