Poor kid, English orthography is SO annoying. If it was less annoying, Cat and Cloud would actually begin with K!

My Dad constantly complains about this. His native language? Polish, ironically. But apparently, despite all the difficulties of spelling words in Polish, the orthography is remarkably consistent. A letter always sounds the same, unless it's part of a digraph or has a diacritical marking.
