"Everything tastes better when it's sticky."

We're thinking of translating it into Anglo-French. ;)

This year I managed the open-band trifecta: the Beginners' Ball on Sunday of War Week, the Grand Ball on Tuesday and the Mostly English Revel on Thursday. I have dancer friends who were in charge of the Sunday and Thursday dances, so I had no excuse. :-)

I was pretty exhausted, however, by the time I showed up at the Grand Ball (around 10 p.m.). I had been cooking and doing other camp chores all day, and some of the tunes played after that time were unfamiliar to me. I ended up doing a lot of droning.

And here I was thinking "Yay! There's still time to eat local sweet corn and go to the beach!"

But Pennsic hasn't signalled the end of Summer for me for a very long time; other folks' MMV....

We went to school yesterday to drop off paperwork and hear about Mina's new teacher/classroom, which felt rather definitively like an End of Summer Moment. Alas.

Gee, that does sound depressing--you have my condolences....

A very happy Pennsic memory - "Their Excellencies Bhakail called me into Court..." I have two baronial coronets now. Both made by the person who presented them to me.

It's like licking, only prettier!

We're going to drink until this project is finished!

I have a new song, composed by a Baroness. :-)

(at the risk of tooting my own horn) Being in "Anne of the Thousand Days" and having perhaps my best theatrical experience ever - despite not even having a full dress rehersal, and on the way home running over & over in my mind the end of the first act, when Anne & Henry are at last in love and before everything goes wrong. I like to hold them there in my mind...or resort to the idea we had (as actors often do) of changing the ending so they run off to the Carribbean & leave England & its weather to Cromwell. ;-D

I've done a lot of shows over the years, including off-off-Broadway and one with a future Tony winner, but never have I had the kind of connection as I did with "my" Anne, which blossomed amazingly just at the right time and all we both were thinking afterwards was "let's do that again!".

You were absolutely brilliant. I think everyone in the audience was also desperately wishing that somehow, some way, it might just possibly work out differently this time...
