Sounds like it worked out alright in the end. Tis hard when you bump into exes unexpectedly - not sure if I could have walked away without saying something if I'd been drinking, so very well done.

And I have to admit to slight jealousy - damn I miss pub crawls!! Haven't been on one in aaagggeess.
