I want to start by saying that I hate LJ some days.  Perhaps they should focus on making sure the existing software works correctly (silly things like posts the currently shown text and not the deleted text or no text at all) instead of trying to come out with something new and "innovative".

Anyway, on to recreating my musings....

Ah. SPN Fandom -- a special and horrible place all at once.

There are corners to the fandom. Corners that like the female characters when they are awesome (and some of the guests of the week do suck, and some of them are great, and some of the minor characters male and female suck, and some are awesome) and hate them when they suck.

Then there's the Greater Crazy People, who do seem to resent every vagina wielding character who may have a shot of making the sex with Sam or Dean.

Which is another reason why I'm confused about the love for the new Ruby. She's not as pretty as Katie Cassidy, but it's HEAVILY implied that she and Sam are doing it. And I for one thought that would blow the fandom open, right there

We have, and you've made great efforts to convert me like it was your job, but to no avail - well, maybe with a bag over his head.

And I am grateful to hear that there are sane corners to fandom, there usually are, but they're not as funny as the others.

As for the love of the new girl, adn the implication that she's doing Sam, it just solidifies my theory - if she's not as pretty, then it's easier to self-insert and then they are banging Sam and Dean will come home soon and start doing them both - duh.
