As always, I'd love to hear what you all think, concrit welcomed with open arms.

Classes were hard, much harder than she'd expected. She'd really thought she'd be able to take this year easy because there were no OWLs, no NEWTs. Instead, the professors were focused on preparing them for the testing next year and the resulting coursework was almost overwhelming.

Parvati wasn't the smartest person in Gryffindor, didn't even try to pretend it. She normally let people assume what they wanted about her. For the most part, if all they saw was flighty silly Parvati - that was fine with her. She had her own skill set and she knew it. Padma was book smart, Parvati was people smart.

Her people smarts weren't helping her much with her homework right now, though. She had a very large assignment due in Herbology the next day. She mentally chastised herself for allowing Padma to talk her into taking Herbology when she hated to get dirty and especially didn't enjoy the carnivorous plants. Another two feet and her essay would be complete, though.

The common room slowly emptied as she continued flipping through the books stacked on the table. Neville was a help but he couldn't write the assignment for her and she wouldn't let him anyway. Lavender said goodnight and Parvati waved her off, telling her that she'd be up after she finished this assignment.

Shadows lengthened in the room as both the fire and her candle burned low. It was getting harder and harder to see the parchment. As she squinted on a particularly hard passage, a light flared off to the side. She cried out in pain as she shielded her eyes.

"Sorry, didn’t think it'd be that bright." The voice sounded familiar as her eyes adjusted to the new brightness. Gaping, she watched as Colin approached and set the jar filled with a ball of light.

"Thank you," She whispered.

"Welcome. I'm Colin, by the way, Colin Creevey," He replied before putting a small cover over the light, directing it onto her work before sitting down next to her and pulling out one of his own books.

"I know."
