On Wednesday of this week I got my CPAP machine. For those of you who don't know it's a machine that helps me breathe when I'm sleeping. I suffer from sleep apnea, which can be somewhat bothersome and cause a host of other problems. I've used it twice so far (of course). Neither time did I make it all the way through the night without pulling ( Read more... )

I know that when Snorri started w/ his CPAP they had him taking a sleep aid till his mind got used to the idea that there was a squid attached to his face while he was sleeping. Just a thought that it might help you too. Good luck w/ it though. It (the machine) really does help w/ the sleeping though.

"there was a squid attached to his face..."

That made me giggle :D

Anyway, so are you still having your dinner thang on Thursday? I'm down to go, if it is. I just wondered if it was cool if I brought my kidlet with?

It is Thursday night. Tucanos downtown at 7, then club thereafter. The club previously known as OPM, now it's Lotus or something like that. I'm sure it'll be cool for the kidlet for dinner. Club may be another matter, but I certainly don't mind! *wink*

We will be there (Andvari and I) for dinner. I won't be able to go to club though since I have to be at the airport at like 8 a.m. :p Which is why I'd wanted to bring the wee pant. I won't see her all weekend and I figured bringing her to dinner you could say hello and I'd get a little bit more time with her. So, I'm glad you don't mind! She'll probably even make you a birthday card. :)

She's 6 now and fairly well-behaved. Just to let ya know. She's also very cute but I'm the mama so I might be a little bit biased. :)

Every time I get out of the habit of using my CPAP, and I start again, it always takes me three or four nights before I get sufficiently accustomed to it to sleep with it through the night.

I think it took me about two weeks to get used to the CPAP in the first place when I originally got it.

Do you have a heated humidifier for yours?

Ok, I had just gotten the call when I made the edit. It's not an oxygen bottle but an oxygen accumulator. I have to turn it on before going to bed and let it run for a bit. Yeah, I guess I wasn't breathing much at night.

They've told you that the sleep apnea is a significant contributor to depression, haven't they?

Hey I just randomly found this maskless cpap mask -- if the one you have is bugging you, you should know that there exist other masks and other solutions.
