It's unclear to me who the bride betrayed? It sounds like the note isn't from the groom, but from a third party, possibly the "missing woman" from the wedding party, if I'm interpreting this correctly?

I have to echo Ro's comment. I'm curious and would like to know more about the scenario surrounding this, what kind of curse and why. It's a very interesting story otherwise, I'd just like to know more about it all.

Very well done. retribution though we do not know why she was cursed and second why the groom jilted her, inquiring minds wonder, but perhaps we just assume she stole the groom from her friend and now pays the price.

I'm kinda leaning towards a "best-friends-had-a-falling-out-and-missing-girl-killed-the-groom" thing, but I'm in a bloodthirsty mindset.
