Valentines day... the day most men hate. I mean, why would we like it? We have to buy shit (cards, chocolate, bears, flowers, jewelry etc. ect.), pay for dinner, dress up, play nice and all we get, if we're lucky, is sex (maybe) and if you get sex on valentines day, you can get sex some other time without presents, dinner, dressing up and being ( Read more... )

just a few thoughts i thought were interesting...

a. valintines day: not all girls love it; there are a lot of people who absoultely hate it because they feel they're not included in the whole celebration of bf/gf love. if it wasn't my birthday, i'd just be neutral towards it, i like seeing it as a day for love, btw friends/family/whatever.
b. there are about 14 words in portuguese (each means a different kind of love) which are all translated into english's all-emcompasing love

hahahaha.
oh and i only wrote the thing about being neutral towards it because my friend was looking over my shoulder in disagreement with how i wrote that if it wasn't my birthday it'd be one of the worst days of my life. well, maybe not the worst but it would definately suck.

Me and my girlfriends are haveing an 'anti-valentines.' We're going to get fucked up and raise whatever chaos we can, however we can; because we're dead inside. lol.

as for love. I think that the best you can explain it is - love is not being afraid to say 'I love you'

it's more than just being able to say it. There are times and people in situations where they know they love someone but dont want to, dont have to say 'I love you.' Saying 'i love you' doesn't make you love someone, just as not saying 'i love you' means you dont love someone. Love is not saying something, or being able to say something, but being able to *feel* something. And being able to know you feel something about someone so deeply where you dont have to say 'i love you' and that it is just understood. You know what i mean, you know with your best friend you can just give them a look or a body motion and they know exactly what you are thinking / feeling. The same goes for love, just 1 look at the person you love, and they'll know what you feel. That is what i think love is. Not words, not physical attachment, no money, no presents, none of that stuff. Love is mutual, emotional understanding of affection.
