What did you do in 2012 that you'd never done before?
I left a job.
Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember, honestly. I think for this year, I am making a serious and realistic resolution to take care of my health, but not with specific parameters.

Yes- Jess and Vica.
Did anyone close to you die?
No :)
What countries did you visit?
Just Ukraine.
What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
A stronger feeling of competence at my job.
What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
January 21 and March 14, when I met and then entered a relationship (oooh!) with T.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
It's a toss-up between getting a new job and earning two A+s for my summer classes.
What was your biggest failure?
Most of the teaching I did in the 2011-2012 school year.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
Oh boy, did I. I developed sciatica.
What was the best thing you bought?
I'm not sure.
Whose behavior merited celebration?
Mine? I have been proud of how I have handled the many changes I experienced this year.
Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The Republican Party's. Not to be political, but I hate rape defenders.
Where did most of your money go?
Rent, food, classes- the usual.
What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Romance. This answer is embarrassingly candid.

Probably Bitterblue, by Kristen Cashore. I have never seen a fantasy novel deal with recovery from tyranny in such a sympathetic way- and certainly not a young adult novel.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
I think I had heard Neko Case before 2012, but this was the year that I really got into her.
What did you want and get?
A foam roller. Warm woolly socks. A new job (YES). Kisses!

I don't know- a new job IN Manhattan?
What was your favorite film of this year?
I wish I could say something deep, but it's gotta be Pitch Perfect.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I celebrated with many friends at the bar where I celebrated my 26th birthday. This time, I was 28.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Immeasurably? I don't know. I do wish I could feel that my mother were secure and happy.

Polished.
What kept you sane?
The boyfriend.

My father. And my old co-workers- they are truly wonderful people.
