I always get so weird in low light situations. I love the ambient light and whatnot, but with the ISO at 1600 or 3200, I'm always worried that the quality will suffer, even though I know it isn't a huge deal.

These are lovely.

Thanks. I'm used to shooting without flash. My hand steadiness has improved greatly over the past year as a result. I've learnt a few tips along the way to make shoots like this manageable. In the end, it's about bringing back usable images that help tell the story.

Yeah, I really hate flash, I only use it when I absolutely have to. My hand's pretty steady, but I've become quite good at using the objects around me to steady my camera when I don't have a tripod.

Does SITC still meet on Mondays? Where and when? I would like to attend tomorrow.

Yeah, Scrabble in the City is still goin', even in my absence. I'm most likely to be there myself this Monday for a Thanksgiving Edition. We're still at Kilgour's pub, on Bloor Street, just east of Bathurst (at Borden). We start at 7pm. Details on the Facebook group.

Thanks very much. I do not want to register with Facebook, so I would appreciate it if I could know the details about SITC without having to go to the Facebook web site first. Will be there anywise at 7 p.m.

Do I need to bring my board 'n' stuff?

Bring your board if you can. I try to have lots of boards for people to play. It being a holiday Monday we can have a small or very large turnout. There's no predicting these things. Should be nice weather for the patio too. :)

Awesome work. I seriously need better equipment to get such sharp shots during low lit live performances and such. That's 3200 ISO? I wouldn't have guessed, there's not a lot of grain and where there is it just makes the image look crisp...

Having a fast lens also helps. And a steady hand.
