I got a spot on the Scavi Tour (the archaeological excavations under St Peter's Basilica)! I didn't think it was going to happen because I'd read you have to book months in advance, and I only found out about it last week. I guess it pays to travel in February, and solo.

That's so sweet. Maybe you'll see some of the weird things the Catholic Church has been hiding for a 1,000 years like the Arc of the Convenant, the Holy Grail, evidence of Pope Joan, Dracula, etc.

Do they let you take pictures on that tour? If so I can't wait to see them.
