Here's another post on television.

I'm not really a fan of Monk... not that I don't like Tony Shaloub, which I do- I love the Lebanese!-just that the show is one of those lower-grade, feels-like-it's-from-1984- type things....old-fashioned tv where you can figure out the plot twists a mile away.  I mean, it's a cute little show and I'd probably love ( Read more... )

I've seen Monk twice, both times on airplanes. I must say, it was a very enjoyable show to watch on an airplane, particularly while jet-lagged. I know what you mean about the 1984 feel (it seems like Angela Lansbury and Stephanie from Newhart might show up any minute), but this is less bothersome on an airplane. Airplane space/time is so nebulous. You're only really in between things. And the white noise of the engines/air filtration systems are very disorienting.

Anyway, thanks for the link. I will watch it.

Oh, I can see Monk being perfect for airplanes. They don't even have to edit anything out! And it's easy to follow and you can miss bits here and there while you're trying to get your tiny bag of peanuts open or mind-control the flight attendant to serve you a beverage before the guy across the aisle.

(Have I congratulated you on your pregnancy yet? I've been lurking; I feel like I haven't. So, belated congratulations!!)

Thank you! The kicking still startles me sometimes, but it turns out I like having a little passenger. It suits me.
