Aha! Success! I found a job at this restaraunt that serves chinese, thai and japanese food. I think they want me to serve, but I do not have my serving it right certificate therefore I have no idea what to do and what not to do. I'm guessing don't yell, fart, or make rude gestures in front of the customers. Also I think it might help if I not ( Read more... )

I'm a server at Denny's, so I can give you some tips.
Serving it Right is just an alcohol-oriented course, and has very little to do with serving food and waiting on tables. It just allows you to serve alcohol legally at 18 instead of 19 in BC if you have it.

Otherwise, the rule of thumb with serving multiple tables is to always do things in order. Even if the ketchup for table 5 is nearby and easier to grab than the food table 1 is waiting for, you should always do things based on what was needed or requested first. It helps avoid memory-raping, I find.

Although serving is hard, the rest of the job entails activites that anyone with a brain half as good as yours should be able to figure out in time and with practice.
