Urea

Urea, or carbamide, is actually a substance you excrete with your urine. The main purpose of that is to help the body get rid of excessive nitrogen waste. (The waste is commonly known as ammonia, which is already a bogus in cosmetics - it can damage hair or nails when used in hair dye or nail polish remover.)

In spite of its somewhat disgusting origins, it is rather effective as a moisturiser. Recent researches (e.g. the one displayed on Eucerin's homepage) claim that it greatly enhances the skin's ability to bind water.

Dr Snape thinks this ingredient deserves an E (Exceeds Expectations)
So disgusting, but so useful. I love it.
