Now House sat in his car watching Stacy walk toward her door. As she stopped on the top step to search for her keys, he felt a tug in his chest as he already began to envision her as the one that got away. He sighed and turned to the wheel.
Stacy stood where she was, frozen on the porch. She touched her lips, the imprint of his final kiss a scar she would bear forever like his leg.
