Oh God, this actually made me cry. Great stuff. It was well written, showed a plausible evolvement of the events, and had a very good characterization.
The last lines really caught me.

The few NCIS fics I've written are more characterization than canon, if that makes sense, so I figured I'd write my own version of Twilight. I thought it'd be worse if she hadn't died right away. There was never any claim that Ari was a good shot. It was so easy to write I may do another.
