There were so many little things that reminded him about her, made it hard for him to concentrate on other women. Maybe that was why he avoided the clinic. He was afraid that he would be reminded of her by the shape of every woman‘s clenched fist as he dismissed them, their pursed lips as they tried to hold their tongue against his wisecracks, their narrowed eyes.
Or maybe he was afraid he was going to find one that was too much like her. One that could slip into Stacy’s role seamlessly, leaving him nothing more to be miserable about.
