Wilson woke up with a start. This was the third time he had to relive the last moments of his time with Amber. His mind was cruel; it would not let him sleep.
Yet at the same time he was grateful for these dreams, reminders that she was more than the note she left behind, the scent on her pillow, the shoes by the door. He would willingly break his hear over and over again for this memory, this glimpse of her.
He rolled over and checked the clock. It was only 3:18 a.m., plenty of time for more dreaming.
