So I'm stealing this idea from tristelamar_23, because it looked fuuuuuuun!

I can never quite find a famous face to match my mental images of HP characters, and I must admit that, for the most part, the movie actors don't even come close for me. (not that Rupert isn't super-cute or anything!)

So I decided to try and find actors that approximately

Alan Tudyk actually does "intense looks" surprisingly well. He was excellent as the multiple personality psychopath in Dollhouse, with many intense look-type moments.
He also does tortured well, as can be seen in his, um, torture scenes in Firefly.
I do love me some emotional-turmoil-tortured!George, after all!

Fun. You know, Gina Torres is awesome, and totally badass. Did you ever see her on the show Alias? You were probably like 15 when it was on the air, but she was Jennifer Garner's Communist-bred sexy spy nemesis. She's amazing!

Eddie is too handsome for my own personal Percy (not that Percy can't be handsome, but I sat through several episodes of The Pillars of the Earth pining for Eddie!), but he fits the bill in those photos (are the first two from The Good Shepherd?).

She is a total badass, which is why she instantly came to mind when I thought of Angelina. I never saw Alias, but her Zoe on Firefly was soooo badass!! The perfect contrast to Alan's goofy Wash.

Eddie is very, very close to "my" Percy, BUT he deviates around the mouth. His lips are simply too...sensual, really. From the nose up, though, totally Percy. It's the intense-eyes, unrelenting cheekbone combo, I think.
Also, he definitely needs to be in a suit with uber-tamed hair for it to work at all. His tousled-locks Jack isn't Percy in the slightest, lol!
I have no clue where the photos are from, as far as I know I've only ever seen him in Pillars.

Do you have any approximate people in mind for some characters? You're certainly familiar with more famous faces than I am!!

This is such a cool idea! I need to find the time to do this myself! I think your selections are spot on! Hermione's hair is always WAY too un-frizzy for me. She's been in desperate need of a good tease and a great crimper since the first films! You know that shot in HBP where they've finished mixing Felix and her hair is all insane?? That should be her hair ALL THE TIME!

George and Angie are perfect!

Yeah, I have major issues with Hermione's depiction in the films, and I know exactly the scene you mean, because it's the ONLY time her hair has ever looked right!
