I've been thinking through the process that resulted in my coming out as a lesbian, and the various forces that shaped what felt to me more like a decision than a recognition of something biological or innate. I quite fully agree in a lot of ways with your experiences and with what you have said here.
Yes, there are differences, but I too have felt almost the same thing at one time or another.
I am younger than you, and have figured out my polyamorousness at an early age, so if fact that I could change. evolve differently, but I do not think this will be so.
I always find your entries refreshing, in a way of seeing my own struggles through someone elses experiencses and thoughts.

i hope to grow someday to appreciate myself as unique as well. as i have thought that the pot smoking hippies and the video gaming dorks and geeks were "my people" even though smoking pot does not hold anything for me so i do not and i do not like wasting all my time playing video games. i just relate fairly well to these persons cultures and lifestyles more than any other.

it is good to know that someone else out there is experiencing the same thoughts.
