Chelsea as a team had more players at the WC than any other team so they're probably all tired. Still funny though!

Just another evidence of European football being the weakest in the world. I'm not surprised.

Because anyone actually cares about preseason friendlies?

Heck, Liverpool just lost 5-0 to Mainz, and I'd bet that 90% of people couldn't even tell me what league Mainz are in.

Everything counts. Also recall all the World Club Championships and Europeans' participation. Especially I love MU against Necaxa.

Mainz is quite a decent German club. No wonder it's beaten Liverpool. What was wonder, was Liverpool winning the CL. Although to me any club winning CL is a wonder. In most cases when a European club wins a game, it's a wonder too.

Absolutely nobody cares about preseason friendlies.

Liverpool lost 5-0 to Mainz with a near full-strength team. Nobody cares. It's just a chance to get a run and try things out.

Liverpool lost 5-0? What did they try out? Gerrard as goalkeeper?

Someone cares, it turns out. Its unofficial, yes. These games dont go into the stats. But then, think about the Mainz fans ;}

The point of this post is about Chelsea's attitude to a game like this, even though the result is surely the last thing that matters. And especially Mourinho's attitude/excuses. The question is not whether the game matters or whether anyone gives a damn about it.

LOLOLOL You people slay me.

Even IF the Premiership is the best league in the world, the gulf between the Premiership and the 2nd best league-- take your pick La Liga, Serie A, whatever-- is a billion times smaller than the gap between the NBA and FIBA or whatever other basketball league you can name. Same in the other American sports. Sheesh!

The top Premiership teams play every year in the Champions League, how often do they win it? Does one league ever DOMINATE the Champions league? No. There is legitimate debate about what's the best soccer league. There is NO such debate about the best basketball, baseball or American football league. None. If you think there is, I won't blame you for being uninformed, because these are not the sports of your homeland, so you shouldn't be expected to know a lot about them. But I do blame you for trying to make a statement based upon something you don't know anything about.

Actually my country has just a couple of sports that it excells in: handball, chess and em, eating pickled lamb's testicles :p

But still, i got pretty much information. That was not my point. It was: even if NBA are apparently way better than anyone else, they gotta prove it in a legitimate competition. Let'em smash all opposition by 120:40, then put the World Champ crown on their heads. Not earlier.
