I'm a day late in offering Christmas wishes to you all, but my unexpected visit to Cleveland for a minor medical procedure (yes, these days getting a heart pacemaker is just a minor procedure, I think) required a change in my holiday plans. Oh dear, Silvio. Looks like you're going to have to take it easy for a while. No exertion, no stress. I suppose it's best zat you don't read what Romano's latest comments. And maybe you should avoid ze opera houses for a while...

I didn't have a chance to follow the links before, and now the one to Romano is lost (it just takes me to the current news). So perhaps Silvio will just have to live without knowing what Domi wanted to show him. The "Candide" piece was bad enough. :-(

Your concern for my health is much appreciated, amico mio, but I assure you that I'll be back to my regular pursuits in no time. I have the stamina of a much younger man, as I'm sure you'd be the first to acknowledge.

And that so-called "opera" isn't going to defile the stage of La Scala if I have anything to say about it! At least not unless that scene by the oil slick is cut out. Or maybe changed so that Giorgio and I are shown shaking our heads sadly at the dissolute behaviour of Vladimiro as he dances alone in the moonlight, vodka bottle in one hand, underwear in the other.... It was just Prodi saying Silvio is lying when he says he was a good PM, that he screwed up the economy and the country with it.

I am perfectly happy wiz whatever you write for Candide, Silvio, because it does not matter to me at all.
