Hello anyone who still reads this community!

As you are probably aware, WorldPride didn't take place in August, but it will this August!

In honor of this occasion, I have updated the banners post with correct ones, as well as the icon post. Anyone still using the banner code doesn't need to change the link, just the date at the bottom. All ( Read more... )

I'm still here. And in Jerusalem. And looking forward to next August!

Thanks.

While you're here, any chance you'd be interested in volunteering either before or durin WP?

Of course. As far as I was aware, there was only one meeting for whatever group I seemed able to help in. I went to said meeting but nothing else seems to have come of it or I haven't been receiving any emails stating otherwise. But I signed up to help, and I'm hoping to help. I don't know why I haven't been contacted yet or what I can do.

So we might have met at the meeting then. I think there's been difficulty finding a team leader, mostly.

Greetings
I'm from Austria and on LJ for years now. I'm desperately looking for the photo of cleriks of all sorts of churches sitting together on one table giving a press converence opposing world pride 2005. I have it somewhere in an Advocate issue but can't find it. I'd like to use it in a work for university. I'm studying history in Vienna. I attended a class about film as historical source and currently write about "Sebastiane" by Derek Jarman. Perhaps you have a link to a hp where I can find this pic.
I would've been too afraid to go to Jerusalem for world pride last summer. I'd do it now, but I won't be able to do it this summer since I start working at the London Jewish Cultural Centre. This is instead of Military service.
Hope you can help me. Thanks, Hansi

This is the best I could find. I think most news sites have removed the picture from their sites by now. Sorry.

Thanks so much, you helped me a lot. Would you mind if we become friends too. I like the things you post. As you can see, I haven't posted for quite a while. My life was very busy lately. But since I plan to visit Jerusalem and Tel Aviv within the next two years I'd like to make friends with people there and you seem to be a nice person. Short profile: born Jan 17th 1978, unhappy with law I started studying history last fall, which makes me very happy. Austrian, catholic, arian fag (Not that I'm proud on "arian", but all these things in one phrase in my country are the best way to express my whole attitude towards our past. Plus I love acting camp, which I sometimes do with my jewish friends. Queer versus Jew is absolutely politically incorrect in Austria of "Sound of Music", who has been Hitler's first victim). Currently preparing for a year of memorial service (instead of military service) at the London Jewish Cultural Centre, Aug 15th 2006 to Aug 31st 2007. Friends of mine will be in Jerusalem (Yad Vashem) and Tel Aviv (Anita ( ... )

Today I saw a film by Rosa von Praunhelm "Männer Helden Schwule Nazis", so it's a documentation about gay Nazis. I didn't know that it's possible to be gay and a Nazi but it obviously is. Under this circumstances I can no longer use this selfdescription I mentioned above. It was ment to criticize the strong right tendencies in our country but not to support this stupid idea. Again, I thought this could not be missunderstood, but it can. I am no Nazi. (Don't even know whether I'd be aryan or not and I don't care.)
Still hope we can become friends.
