An issue which environmentalists, greens, progressives, etc.  find important is the impact of modern agriculture.  Today's  agribusiness pollutes, abuses animals, and produces food full of hormones and pesticides.  This is contrasted with the practices of  sustainable agriculture and organic farming, mostly practiced by small farmers.   How does

this just makes me so mad. how is it that so many people making laws can be that dumb and greedy. it stinks all-hell-to-high-water. this is one of the many reasons i don't eat meat (not the most important reason, however). but, sadly, i'm sure the politics of veggies is just as convoluted and corrupt in their own way. even though i'm a veggie gal i still feel bad for the little guy who wants to treat his animals more ethically but can't because of the laws limiting him.
