My group was in Paris before WYD...it was great. The priest with us was allowed to concelebrate Mass in Notre Dame, and we had 5 guys as alter servers. He also was allowed to say Mass in the Chapel with St. Catherine's body (incidentally, St. Catherine is my parish's saint

I LOVE Chartres - perhaps one of the most beautiful places I've seen in the world! The glass is gorgeous.

My group went to Paris before WYD too. It was awesome! We didn't get a chance to go to mass in Notre Dame but everyone in our diocese who went to Paris (we had the choice of Paris or Rome before WYD) in Sacre Coeur and my priest concelebrated in the Church of the Miraculous Medal which was cool. We had the chance to go to Chartes, but we decided not to go.
