Hello! :)

I'm lyssiae, I'm 24, I'm British but I live in the Netherlands and I AM GOING TO KEULEN, yea baby. My group's going to be small (don't expect huge numbers of Catholics from the northern part of the Netherlands ;)), but we're going to be there all the same - combined with a short trip to Dokkum (where St. Boniface was martyred) beforehand. Excellent! Which diocese are you from?

The thought strikes me that there should be someone waving an LJ banner around somewhere so we'd be able to come together and do the whole "Hey! You're an internet randomer I know!" thing.

Haha, that would be awesome! We should make a t-shirt or something. I actually have some internet friends in Mainz I might get to see (though probably not). I'm from Joliet Diocese in Illinois, USA.

wow, this has turned into an international community and it's so cool.
I've never seen Cologne/Koln/Kuln spelled like that before! I'm adding it to the interests list, k? :-)

Welcome!

Thankee :)

Keulen is, as far as I know, just the Dutch spelling of the name of the city. The longer I live here and the more Dutch I speak, the more I wonder where on EARTH English got the word "Cologne" from ;)

From the French, I suppose. Cologne when you say it is actually remarkable close to Köln. Still, visually it's quite ruined. Actually, the more I think of it, was the Latin of the town was probably Colonia.
