[CR list/evaluations of the people she's met]

From my universe:

Alia Atreides:

Formerly I thought of her as a historical footnote, a brief prelude to Leto's reign. Yet there are depths to this woman I never suspected. I am continually amazed that an intelligent young woman like her accepted the Baron Harkonnen into her consciousness. I suspect it must have been only a small amount of herself she let him have at first. The increase was gradual until she roasted like a frog in the deathstill.
Knowing this, it may be possible to save her. But if not, I have not forgotten how to use a crysknife.

Arha Masaari:

The first Sister I met here. It is obvious to me at this point that our order wronged her. No wonder she threw herself so fully into being a Jed-eye Pahdiuan. Whatever path she chooses, I hope she is happy. She will be my Sister whatever happens.

Duncan Idaho (elder):

This is the man I knew on Chapterhouse and yet not the same at all. He is mature, yes, but not as wise as the countless lifetimes he would have will provide him in my time. Still, that aura of attraction that will make him irresistable to women is there, perhaps only a tiny bit less bright.

He is Alia's creature. I must remember that and not fall into old habits of trust.

Gods below do I want to have him.

Duncan Idaho (younger):

This is the Duncan who will be my companion. Yet here he is very much still a child. Mind open, eyes wide, perpetually absorbing things. It's no wonder they intended to bond us. The similarities to my own younger self are striking.
Yet harsh experiences made him the man I care for. I must be the desert to him: harsh but instructive. I owe that much to the man he will become.

Ghanima Atreides:

She has so far shown no interest in communing with Leto's remnants. This is strange for her but in a way gratifying to me. I invested so much of myself into the identity of being wormmaster during my years with the priests, watching them love another before me would...Hurt?

She doesn't trust me. I must change that.

Other Universes:

The Je'dai:

They run on a very parallel course to us. Their abilities, their monastic trappings and many of their philosophies are near identical to ours. Many of them we count as friends.

Yet I sense dangerous tendencies towards moral absolutes here. This light side-dark side business...I am not seeing every facet of the crystal of truth here. Especially I am concerned for Arha in this. We spend years breaking down a student's tendency towards such a literal black and white view of the universe. I don't wish to see such work destroyed.

Khel-No-Gran:

Poor Khel. I wish I could convince him how human he really is.

I am torn between wishing to help him and keeping his self image low in order to use his abilities.

And now I fear he may be developing feelings for me. I must be careful.

Luq Skaiuaker:

This is an immensely wise man in certain ways. His moral precepts limit him...as they limit us all, really. He will not do what is reprehensible to him in this life to ensure the life of the next generation, as evidenced by his distaste for the Golden Path. Still, Duncan was disgusted by it first too. So there is hope. I would dearly love to have him on my side during the coming trials.

He handled the situation with Arha with remarkable maturity.

Motoko Qhusanagi:

Despite a wish to get to know her better, we end up verbally sparring with each other every time we meet and get nowhere. It's possible we are simply too alike.

Ohbi-Uan Qenobi:

The old-guard Jedi, who (as always happens with them!) reminds me of his equivalent in the Bene Gesserit. Despite his wish that Jedi do not love, he is a very kind man. He was kind to me in my mourning for Leto's worm and I did not sense it was due to my beauty.

Qhatara:

The physical prodigy. Acolyte Qhatara is a gifted girl, even without her Waterbending (a talent my Fremen instincts continually boggle at!). She is diligent, and physically able. She absorbs Prana Bindu faster than any raw Acolyte i've ever met. Yet she lags behind Tess in the Sociopolitical portions of teaching. It's the moral code again. Important events must have reinforced its use as a defense mechanism (esp. the incident with the Bloodbender). It keeps her from her full potential.

There is also the question of her Avatar boyfriend. I have resolved not to judge him as a Kwisatz Haderach prematurely. My training must not lead me to knee jerk conclusions, but my affection for Qhatara must not diminish my ruthlessness in the face of threats to the multiverse.

Roxie Schrieber:

Little interloper in dreams. I find her competent and intelligent but there is something...Incomplete about her. She was rushed somehow.

Sharp Tongue:

A good acolyte, diligent. Her native religion limits her, but as she comes to learn more of how religions are formed, she will grow out of it. I long to see what kind of Reverend Mother her species will make. I must stop putting off giving her the Gom Jabbar test. Missing!

Slobo:

Slobo understands greyness. Possibly because he literally is grey. Will prove a good friend useful ally when he learns to be a little less impulsive and cap his emotions a bit.

Sonic:

An immature Futar, perhaps? He talks much more articulately than one but that animallike nature...And he mentioned that his species was the product of the genetic fusing of man and animal...

Tess Lee:

Tess has a political sophistication born of having travelled far and with an observing eye and a round, waterfat body that men will find appealing. She is Qhatara's opposite: She can tell you the eighteen forms of social collapse off the top of her head, but she still struggles with any but the most basic Prana Bindu. This is undoubtedly due to the suit she wears. It has made her uncomfortable in her own skin without it.

Technologies create dependencies. This is the real danger the Butlerian Jihad warned us against. To make much more progress I am going to have to bring her to the point of reevaluating her relationship to technology.

Mr. Wednesday:

Thinks we, who produced cosmologies from whole cloth and gave birth to jihads, don't know the etymology of the word 'Wednesday'! In other words, he thinks others aren't aware of how dangerous he is. A dangerous assumption itself.

Xander:

A good kisser. Too bad he was involved in that foolishness with the Yeerk. Candidate for imprinting perhaps?
