An update? Gasps, horrors, and shock.

RECAP OF SUMMER:

Right after school: Visited colleges up north. Decided that Smith and Mount Holyoke were awesome, Amherst was a crapshoot, and Colgate would be awesome if it A) didn't have boys and girls on the same dorm hall, B) had no Greek Life, and C) wasn't in the middle of a freakin' goat field.

I'd definitely recommend a single at Uni. I know it's far more common in the US to be in a shared room, but if you're a person who needs her own space, make up whatever excuse you can to get a single room! I had a shared room my first year at Uni, and ended up spending as much time as I could sleeping on the floor of other people's rooms, who I actually got on with.

Bryn Mawr looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm assuming it's somewhere in the vicinity of Bryn Mawr train station, which we went through on our trip into Philadelphia when visiting in-laws - in case, it looked so good, I was half-persuaded to move to the US!

Most of the colleges I visited said I could get a single as an upperclassman, but not always as a freshman. Maybe I'll suddenly develop a horrible disease over the next year and require a room alone. >> I just want to be able to change my clothes without hiding behind my closet door. ;_;

Bryn Mawr IS gorgeous. Castles! :D It's like three blocks down from the train station, so real close to Philly without being in the city. It's also a very ritzy town. Down the street from the college is a Ferrari/Jaguar dealer, which I did not know they had. ^^;
